How does one establish consistency when it has never been established for them? Consistency, for me, tends to revolve around the idea that one must continuously apply oneself. To be continuous is to be ever going. That would mean a sense of presence is applied. I would say I had struggled with this concept of consistency for so long because my idea was shaped by absent parents. So, whenever I give myself a break, I feel like I am failing myself. A set of programming in which occurred. A part of being aware of this requires me to understand I now have the option to reprogram my brain with whatever ideas I want. The choice now lays in my hands.
How exactly does one create their idea of consistency when none was ever presented?
Let's start by creating an idea, the idea being that you want to create a chocolate cake.
So, you began the process by following the baking instructions.
Now a choice is asked of you: do you want to finish adding all the ingredients, or skip a couple of steps to get the cake in the oven quicker?
If you choose to skip the steps, you have chosen not to follow through on your decision to bake the cake. By skipping these steps, it has resulted in the cake being too dry. Had you chosen to follow through with providing the cake with all the proper ingredients? The cake would have come out as you had wanted.
Decisions like this must be made every day in our lives. We must choose between following through within oneself. What are the things you desire? Ask yourself this and follow through with the steps it takes.
